Ernest Taylor was a rugby union international who represented England from 1892 to 1899.[1] He also captained his country.[1]

Ernest Taylor was born on February 20, 1869 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.[1]

Rugby union career

Taylor made his international debut on Feb 6, 1892 at Whalley Range, Manchester in the England vs Ireland match.[1] Of the 14 matches he played for his national side he was on the winning side on 7 occasions.[1] He played his final match for England on Feb 4, 1899 at Lansdowne Road in the Ireland vs England match.[1]
